Last Drawing of 2019
Today I gave my Dad a drawing I did of him. I’ve done this in prior years, and I was really excited to put all my recent practice to use and give him a great drawing this year. It’s probably the most time I’ve spent on an individual drawing, ever, and I’m super pleased with the end result!
My notes for next time are mainly around rendering. I think I could have gone darker in the shadows to expand the value range, and make the drawing pop a bit more. Also the ears are basically just two tones, and the ear forms feel a bit flat. Practice ears more!

Materials Used: Strathmore toned tan, Conte hb, Conte 2b, and a Staedtler hb for the lay-in
